Self Publishing A Book On Amazon

Self-Publishing a book today is now easier than ever. It’s as simple as writing your manuscript, paying someone to edit it, and commissioning a graphic artist to create a great book cover in your niche (OK. So it’s not that easy. The things I’ve listed does involve some research and a small monetary investment).

Nevertheless, for authors who want to publish a book, you are no longer at the mercy of publishing houses and their rules and deadlines. Not only that, when an author publishes their book on Amazon’s Kindle Direct Publishing platform, they can publish as much or as little as they like and keep all the profits.

Again, I don’t mean to make it seem so simplistic. Publishing a book still involves researching your niche, and knowing your audience. Putting together a high-quality professional book is also going to involve a marketing and promotional budget. However, the more effort you put in on the back-end, the more profit you will see on the front end.

If your budget is low, or non-existent there are ways to work around this. Social media is still a thing. Authors who are creative have used their social media presence to become very successful. As a matter of fact, social media is how most books are sold these days.

Having the ability to sell your book on Amazon, where you never have to print, package, or ship a book, is a no-brainer for authors who desire to self-publish. Amazon also sells authors their own books at cost which gives them the ability to have copies to sell through their own websites, or at public events. Authors can sell these books for whatever amount they choose.

I could go on and on about the benefits of self-publishing on Amazon. If you have any questions about the process, ask away in the comments. If you would like more personalized assistance, you can get one on one help from me when you book a consultation.
